Product Description

Cape Fear originated in North Carolina. It produces well-filled nuts beginning at a young age. Alternate bearing in mature years is common. Cape Fear has a good scab resistance. Pollinates well with Elliot or Stuart. The shell thickness is medium-thin. Cape Fear is recommended for Northern Florida to North Carolina and South Carolina.

Type 1 pollinators = protandrous This means that the pollen sheds prior to stigma receptivity. Due to this the type 1 pecan trees should be pollinated with type 2 trees.

Type 2 pollinators = protogynous This means that the stigma is receptive prior to pollen shedding. Due to this type 2 pecan trees should be pollinated with type 1 trees.
